CCHMS School Uniform

School Uniform

Chung Cheng (Main)'s uniform has a red name tag and red tie. Girls wear white shirts and eight-pleated skirts. Boys in Secondary 1 and 2 wear white shirts and shorts while boys in Secondary 3 and 4 wear the same white shirt but with long pants. The shirt has two breast pockets and seven metal buttons in total, two the shoulders, two on each pocket and three down the front. (Written Source- Wikipedia)

As CCHMS was heavily influenced by China in the past, its school badge resembled her flag when she was ruled by Chiang Kai Shek. However, as time passes by, the Communists took over China, hence CCHMS changed its school badge to the current one.

Before the war and
Singapore Independence,
Chung Cheng High School follows China’s curriculum. The school’s textbooks were from China. The teachers too were from China. Therefore, all the lessons were conducted in Chinese.
But now, Chung Cheng High School follows the British curriculum.
In 1979, Chung Cheng High School becomes an SAP school, under the scheme, the school offers both the English and Chinese languages as first languages.
After Singapore gained independence, the school realized the importance of effective teaching and was always supportive in purchasing the latest equipment to add excitement and novelty in learning. It is such dedication that enabled it to be a top school in post-war Singapore.
